Sucralfate
“Reacts with gastric acid to from a long acting acid buffer for as long as 6 to 8 hours after a single dose.
“It also attaches to proteins on the surface of ulcers forming protective barriers at the ulcer surface, preventing further damage from acid, pepsin & bile.
* Useful in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcer, it is cytoprotective and able to increase the bioavailability of several growth factors, modulating the wound heating process.
Oxetacaine
* Is a potent local ansthetic that is administered orally for the relief of pain associated with peptic ulcer disease or esophagitis.
* Is highly active even in highly acidic conditions.
